Matt Gallo

Matt Gallo is the Terrestrial Program Outreach Coordinator for the Finger Lakes PRISM. Originally serving on the Hydrilla Strike Team in 2020, Matt now looks to prevent the spread of terrestrial invasive species such as spotted lanternfly, hemlock woolly adelgid, and more. Much of this work focuses on increasing the region’s invasive species early detection capacity by educating the public on how they can help tackle invasive species. To accomplish this, Matt is the leader of many volunteer programs, invasive species surveys, and educational workshops.

Matt graduated from SUNY-ESF with a B.S in Environmental Science and a minor in Native Peoples and the Environment in 2019. Originally from Long Island, Matt now calls the Finger Lakes home and spends his free time hiking and camping.
