Patty Wakefield-Brown is the Invasives Species Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator at the Finger Lakes Institute and the Finger Lakes PRISM at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Her work primarily focuses on coordinating invasive species workshops, education/outreach, and delivering citizen science activities to municipalities, environmental groups, and students in the Finger Lakes and New York’s Great Lakes region.

Prior to joining FLI, Patty worked for New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Environmental Management Bureau, where she worked on water quality issues and the Watercraft Steward Program.

Patty holds an A.A.S. in Natural Resource Conservation and an A.S. in Environmental Science both from Finger Lakes Community College, and a B.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Aquatic Ecology from The College at Brockport, State University of New York.
